Riassunto: Real Davvening is about the spiritual side of Jewish prayer-- the traditional teachings about how to pray so that you have a spiritual experience; something happens. This book is for beginners as well as people who have been davvening their whole life. The key insight is to realize that davvening is a form of meditation that is not silent but verbal using textual and personal prayers to focus on the Eternal. Buxbaum explains how to enter a sacred private space and also how to connect deeply with fellow worshippers. Simple Jewish meditation techniques for davvening can lift your praying immeasurably higher until you experience the nearness of God. This book will open the gates before you to one of the most important Jewish spiritual practices: prayer.

L'autore: Yitzhak Buxbaum is a dynamic spiritual teacher, Torah scholar, and author of eleven acclaimed books, including Jewish Spiritual Practices, The Light and Fire of the Baal Shem Tov, and Jewish Tales of Holy Women. Both modern and traditional, he reaches people of every background and level of knowledge. He was ordained as a maggid (inspirational teacher) by Rabbis Shlomo Carlebach and Zalman Schachter-Shalomi. Maggid Yitzhak teaches at synagogues, JCCs, Hillels, and other Jewish institutions, as well as universities, across the United States and Canada. Reb Yitzhak ordained forty people in his Jewish Spirit Maggid Training Program, the first such program of its kind. He founded and directs the Jewish Spirit Quest Program to help men and women of all backgrounds and denominations find their own unique spiritual path. He lives in Brooklyn, New York with his wife, spiritual storyteller Carole Forman.
