Recent advances in Power Systems: Select Proceedings of EPREC 2022 (Lecture Notes in Electrical Engineering)

This book presents select proceedings of the 3rd Electric Power and Renewable Energy Conference 2022 (EPREC 2022). Om Hari Gupta is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur, India. He received his B.Tech. (Electrical & Electronics Engg.) from UP Technical University, Lucknow; M.Tech. from the MN National Institute of Technology Allahabad, Prayagraj; and a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. He has visited the University of Ontario Institute of Technology, Oshawa, ON, Canada, for research on microgrid operation. His research areas are power system compensation and protection, microgrid control, and protection and control of drives. Dr. Gupta is a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth-II scholarship for pursuing research on microgrid operation at UOIT, Canada, in 2017. He is a Reviewer for various international journals.

S. N. Singh is a Professor of Electrical Engineering at IIT Kanpur and has been the Vice Chancellor of MMMUT Gorakhpur. He has obtained his M.Tech. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur. Prof. Singh is a receiver of various awards including the Young Engineer Award of the Indian National Academy of Engineering, Khosla Research Award of IIT Roorkee, Young Engineer Award of CBIP, New Delhi (India), Humboldt Fellowship of Germany, and Otto-Monsted Fellowship of Denmark. Prof. Singh is also a Fellow of the prestigious Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), USA, Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE), Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), UK, Institution of Engineers (India), Institution of Electronics & Telecom. Engineers (India), and Alexander von Humboldt (AvH), Germany. Prof. Singh has authored over 500 publications in reputed journals, conferences, and seminars. He has supervised more than 40 Ph.Ds. and written two Books on Electric Power Generation, Transmission and Distribution, and Basic Electrical Engineering published by PHI. He has also completed more than 30 sponsored and consultancy projects.

Om P. Malik graduated in electrical engineering from Delhi Polytechnic in 1952 and obtained a master’s degree in electrical machine design from Roorkee University in 1962. He received a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of London and a D.I.C. from the Imperial College (now University) of Science and Technology, London, in 1965. Dr. Malik worked in electric utilities in India from 1952 to 1961 and spent one year (1959-60) as a Confederation of British Industries Senior Scholar with manufacturing companies in the UK. He taught at the University of Windsor, Ontario, Canada, from 1966-68 and joined the University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, in 1968. He was acting Dean of the Faculty of Engineering in 1981, Associate Dean (Academic) from July 1979 to December 1990, and Associate Dean (Student Affairs) from July 1995 to December 1998. Presently, he is a Professor Emeritus, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Calgary.
