Even while discussing the idea of a book back in 2018, before Poetry in Denim, I asked a few friends who understood business whether it would be a good idea to publish books and gift them to anyone who wanted them, without charge, letting both the book and I survive solely on donations.

Because we often do not value what we get for free, they thought it was a bad idea. But I always wanted to give what I had, out for free, though I did not yet know what that would be.

Then, in early 2020, while reviewing what would have been Poetry in Denim Vol. II, I felt the words were not at par with what I was writing. I had grown and outgrown the book. So, I disposed of most of it and started anew.

Thus began the tedious work of compiling what I had written over the years, tedious because I did not know the volume of words I had produced until I actually began compiling them.

Within those pages, I saw that some poems were good, but not good enough to make someone pay for them. I did not want to swindle anyone who would place enough faith in these words to buy the book.

But make no mistake. Since I had decided to compile a book, I did not have the heart to go halfway. This book does contain some of the best poems I have ever written.

The book was first published as a free e-copy, in the spirit of giving these words away without barriers. Now, in 2026, the physical edition is finally available on Amazon.
