"Religious in Church Law" is a detailed and systematic exposition of the legal status, rights, and obligations of members of religious orders within the Roman Catholic Church. Written by Hector Papi, S.J., this work provides a comprehensive analysis of the 1917 Code of Canon Law as it pertains specifically to the consecrated life. The text covers a broad range of topics essential for understanding the ecclesiastical governance of religious institutes, including the nature of religious vows, the process of admission and novitiate, and the internal administration of communities.

Papi examines the distinctions between various forms of religious life, from solemn to simple vows, and explains the jurisdictional relationships between religious superiors and the hierarchy of the Church. By detailing the canonical requirements for poverty, chastity, and obedience, "Religious in Church Law" serves as an authoritative guide for both individuals in religious life and those responsible for their spiritual and legal oversight. This volume remains a significant resource for scholars of canon law and church history, offering a clear window into the legal framework that shaped Catholic religious life in the early twentieth century.
