Riassunto:
The spatial concepts characteristic of the baroque period continue to infl uence today's architecture. Young architects are reinterpreting the traditional ideas of the baroque and putting them in a new context. "Rock over Barock" features the work of seven young architecture offices and two student projects from the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. The book demonstrates an Austrian tradition in architecture: a collective desire to celebrate space.

Studierte an der Technischen Universität Wien, dem Southern California Institute of Architecture in Los Angeles und der Architectural Association in London, England. Gründungsmitglied des 1968 gegründeten Architekturbüros Coop Himmelb(l)au. Vorstand des Studio a3, Institut für Architektur, Universität für angewandte Kunst in Wien. THOMAS KRAMER. Ausbildung zum Historiker und Filmhistoriker in Zürich und Wien. Seit 2001 Mitglied des Architekturbüros stiefel kramer, Wien/Zürich. Von 1998 bis 2003 Kulturredaktor beim Zürcher "Tages-Anzeiger". Seit April 2005 Kulturchef der schweizerischen Wochenzeitung "Die Weltwoche". Zahlreiche Veröffentlichungen zur europäischen Filmgeschichte und Architektur.
