A hero to the German people of the Third Reich and widely respected by his opponents, Rommel proved himself highly adept at Blitzkrieg warfare. Charles Messenger served for twenty years as an officer in the Royal Tank Regiment before becoming a fulltime military historian and defense analyst. He is the author of nearly forty books, including The Blitzkrieg Story. He lives in London, England.

General Klaus Naumann was Inspector General of the Bundeswehr from 1991 to 1996 and chairman of the NATO Military Committee from 1996 to 1999.
