This copy notable for its provenance: with the triangular stamp 'Geprüft Oflag IX A' to the front end paper and the title page. Also written in manuscript to the front end paper "Cecil Leslie[?] P.O.W. 1579 Recd 31/5/44". 'Oflag IX A' was A German World War II prisoner-of-war camp located in Spangenberg Castle (German: Schloss Spangenberg) and housed British and Commonwealth army officers. the book itself is in very good condition.
