London: Adam and Charles Black, 1908. Two Volumes: The Gifford Lectures of 1907 and 1908. Octavos. Hardcovers without dust jackets. Both books appear to be first editions with no additional printings listed. Volume 1 is 329 pages plus advertisements. Volume 2 is 381 pages plus advertisements. Green boards with gilt lettering. The foot of the spine of volume 1 is chipped and there is rubbing to the edges of the boards. The same goes for volume 2. The binding on volume 2 is a bit shaken. Both volumes have bookplates on the inside of the front board and limited penciling in the text block. Both books in good condition. As of the time of this listing, these are the only copies of these volumes for sale anywhere. Scarce first printings from the famed biologist turned occultist.
