Neuware - 'Scientific Survey of Porto Rico and the Virgin Islands / 2,1, the Geology of the Lares District, Porto Rico' is a comprehensive geological investigation into the northwestern region of Puerto Rico. Conducted by Bela Hubbard, this specialized volume offers a meticulous examination of the district's stratigraphy, structural geology, and physiographic features. It serves as a vital component of a broader scientific initiative to document the natural resources and physical characteristics of the Caribbean islands during the early twentieth century. The work provides detailed descriptions of the Cretaceous and Tertiary formations, including analysis of the sedimentary sequences and fossil content that define the Lares District. Hubbard combines field observations with systematic mapping to illustrate the complex geological history of the area, making it a valuable reference for those studying Caribbean tectonic evolution and regional landforms. This account remains an important historical document for geologists, researchers, and students interested in the foundational earth science surveys of the West Indies. The text emphasizes empirical observation and stratigraphic correlation, providing an essential look at the environmental architecture of the island. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it. This work was reproduced from the original artifact, and remains as true to the original work as possible. Therefore, you may see the original copyright references, library stamps (as most of these works have been housed in our most important libraries around the world), and other notations in the work. This work is in the public domain in the United States of America, and possibly other nations. Within the United States, you may freely copy and distribute this work, as no entity (individual or corporate) has a copyright on the body of the work.As a reproduction of a historical artifact, this work may contain missing or blurred pages, poor pictures, errant marks, etc. Scholars believe, and we concur, that this work is important enough to be preserved, reproduced, and made generally available to the public.
