A Wren Alder Mystery
Some secrets refuse to stay buried.
When librarian Wren Alder discovers a forgotten photograph from Rock Point Lighthouse’s 150th Anniversary Celebration, she notices something no one else has seen—a handwritten note left behind by her late mother questioning the official account of her sister Rebecca Hale’s death nearly three decades earlier.
Everyone believed Rebecca’s death was a tragic accident.
Everyone except Eleanor Alder.
As Wren retraces her mother’s investigation, she uncovers evidence that Rebecca had become increasingly frightened during the final months of her life while working on a confidential pharmaceutical research study at Grayhaven Hospital.
At the same time, Detective Callan Hayes is investigating a series of thefts from Rock Point Lighthouse. Valuable historic artifacts are disappearing one piece at a time, suggesting someone with expert knowledge is directing the crimes from the shadows.
Two investigations.
One lighthouse.
And secrets that have waited twenty-eight years for someone to ask the right questions.
As Wren follows a trail of forgotten records, hidden clues, and long-buried family history, she discovers that someone is still trying to keep the past from being uncovered.
Fortunately, Wren has never been afraid of unanswered questions.
Joined by an unexpected four-legged companion and aided by Detective Hayes, Wren must determine whether Rebecca died by accident…
…or whether someone has spent decades making certain the truth remained hidden.
Perfect for readers who enjoy intelligent mysteries, atmospheric coastal settings, memorable characters, and quiet suspense without graphic violence or explicit language.
