Studies can be boring - you usually play them alone and the lack of rhythm and harmony can be dispiriting. This very practical collection contains the best studies written throughout two centuries ofviolin education. The studies - all in the first position - have been provided with completely new piano accompaniments which give a harmonic and rhythmic helping hand, so that practicing becomes more instructive and more fun. Each edition within this concept features two CDs. For each study there are three tracks on the CDs: a demo version, a play-along version in normal tempo and one in a slower, study tempo. The following technical skills are included in the Selected Studies programme: Book3: For the right hand: chord playing, ricochet, détaché, string shifts, staccato, legato, spiccato, octave playing, cantilena; For the left hand: extended position playing, extensions, varied double stops, octave playing, chord playong, position playing on the G string, pizzicato, flageolets, trills, velocity, chromaticism, ornaments. 1 Study op. 36 no. 25 Composer: Mazas, Jacques Féréol 2 Study op. 36 no. 47 Composer: Mazas, Jacques Féréol 1 Study op. 16 no. 2 Composer: Vieuxtemps, Henri 2 Study op. 36 no. 7 Arranger: Mazas, Jacques Féréol 5 Study no. 9 Composer: Rode, Pierre 6 Study op. 36 no. 55 Composer: Mazas, Jacques Féréol 7 Study op. 36 no. 57 (Tirolienne) Composer: Mazas, Jacques Féréol 8 Study no. 24 Composer: Dont, Jacob 9 Study no. 32 Composer: Fiorillo, Federigo 10 Study no. 14 Composer: Fiorillo, Federigo 11 Study no. 2 Composer: Rode, Pierre 12 Study no. 5 Composer: Gaviniès, Pierre 13 Study op. 36 no. 46 Composer: Mazas, Jacques Féréol 14 Study no. 24 Composer: Kreutzer, Rodolphe 15 Study op. 1 no. 20
