Calling every Christian minister to account One of today's leading theologians shouts a wake-up call to all ministers, ordained and lay, in every denomination. Christianity is facing a crisis of preaching, a crisis of evangelization, a crisis of morality. With apostolic intensity, Kortright Davis challenges many traditional concepts of leadership and service and proposes radical new approaches to restore the vigor to ministry in this post-modern age. Powerfully written, this extraordinary new book - - identifies seven areas of crisis common to the whole Christian church and suggests how to transform them - is firmly rooted in Biblical imperatives to proclaim the Gospel - is thoroughly ecumenical in outlook while helping to renew the strengths inherent in each denomination - draws from the richness of the author's Afro-American heritage, as well as from a wide range of contemporary theologians and spiritual writers. "Kortright Davis has given to ministers in all areas of service a very original study on ministerial and pastoral spirituality. Written from an ecumenical point of view, it presents today's questions from a conscious stand both within the context of minorities and people of color and within the confines of our post-Christian culture and the crisis issues of our time."
