The idea of a sharing economy has gripped the public imagination in recent years, mainly driven by the rise of new technologies. But what is the meaning of sharing resources in response to the world’s greater social, ecological and military crises? 

In The Sharing Economy, Mohammed Sofiane Mesbahi argues that the idea of sharing should always have been directed towards the world’s governments, particularly in response to the tragedy of needless poverty and hunger. He therefore envisions what it means to implement the principle of sharing through the United Nations, which has profoundly spiritual as well as political implications. 

For as the book illuminates, we cannot bring about a just economic order without a sense of our global unity and oneness, and ultimately a new education for humanity based on the Art of Being or Self-realisation.
