Volume VI from the 7 Volume Set: Forest Green heavy cloth (faux leather) on boards with elaborate gilt decoration on front and spine and blind stamped logo and border rulings on back. Each volume is a facsimile of the various countries at the Versailles Peace Treaty finalizing WWI, including their crest/coat of arms/signets and gilt decorations. This Volume is the original art binding on the copy signed by the President of Uruguay and deposited in the Archives of the Government of Uruguay. Top edge is bright gilt. Book is tight, square, sharp-cornered and free of markings and flaws inside and out. Nice frontispiece engraving with captioned tissue guard - "The Last Stroke for World Empire - Great German Tank Attack in its final advance to the Marne." Three other illustrations all with captioned tissue guards. A comprehensive and readable source record of World War I with emphasis on important events. Each volume is a complete narrative in actual words of the chief officials and leaders. Each set was registered in its owner's name at the National Headquarters of The American Legion, with a double page illuminated certificate of ownership (signed by officials of The American Legion) in Volume I.
