Answers to the Misconceptions About Speaking in Tongues That Limit Your Spiritual Strength
Previously published under the title, "Spirit Muscle: Building Your Spiritual Strength with God's Weight Set"
SECOND & EXPANDED EDITION
This book has changed lives in the U.S. and in many nations where the author has ministered. The testimonies have been rolling in...for those who have never spoken in tongues - receiving it for the first time; for those who have not experienced or understood the fullness or specifics of this powerful gift - becoming free and confident on its parameters and usefulness. Many leaders even use this as a textbook for the training of their congregations.
Each chapter answers a burning question that many Christians have about speaking in tongues.
This is the perfect book for both the theological skeptic and the longtime practitioner. Half of the book is dedicated to providing a sound, working theology that addresses every barrier to the receiving and the necessity of the gift. The other half is revelatory teaching that brings depth and faith to the operation of this gift that will reignite a fire in your spirit to reinstitute the importance of its consistent, biblical use. This is a prophetic season in which the Lord is once again highlighting the necessity of the gift of tongues in his Body. Within this book is everything you need to know about the spiritual gift of Speaking in Tongues and its place in the church, ministry, and a Kingdom lifestyle, along with many revelations that you've probably never heard before. Using a surplus of scripture, humor, and thrilling firsthand stories, the author confronts the many myths and misconceptions surrounding this powerful spiritual gift head-on.
“Biblical, experienced, insightful and passionate answers to all of the tough questions surrounding the spiritual gift of tongues.”
Some myths & misunderstandings about tongues that will be answered in this book are:
- Tongues have ceased and are not needed today.
- The purpose of speaking in tongues was for the preaching of the Gospel.
- Tongues must be in a known human language.
- All tongues must be interpreted.
- There is no such thing as tongues as a "prayer language".
- Tongues are not needed any longer because we have the Bible.
- Tongues are just emotionally-driven gibberish.
- You must speak in tongues to be saved.
- Tongues are not evidence of being full of the Holy Spirit.
- Speaking in tongues is a "lesser gift".
- You should only speak in tongues when the Holy Spirit leads.
- There is only one type of speaking in tongues.
- It is not the person who is speaking in tongues, but it is the Holy Spirit doing it as the person is not in control.
- If God wants me to have the gift, He’ll just give it to me.
- Speaking in Tongues manifests automatically when the believer receives the baptism of the Holy Spirit if God has ordained them to have the gift.
- Not every Christian can speak in tongues.
Did you know that God has given you a way to make yourself stronger in the spirit realm? Are you ready to hit God's gym?
