It's obvious that here is someone who takes the Faith seriously, someone who is guided by regard for God rather than regard for man. And that is why what he is saying can be the springboard of hope. My conversation with Bishop Schneider took place over several days in early February of 2020. The coronavirus pandemic had not begun, nor did we know the exact text of the papal exhortation Querida Amazonia. I received the bishop's answers to these questions in April and incorporated them into the text of chapters 1 and 2"--
