Paperback. "St. Colette and Her Reform" offers an insightful and devotional examination of the life and spiritual legacy of Saint Colette of Corbie. Born in the 14th century, Colette became a pivotal figure in the history of the Franciscan movement, specifically through her rigorous restoration of the Order of Poor Clares. This work chronicles her journey from a recluse to a visionary reformer who established numerous convents across France and Flanders, emphasizing a return to the primitive poverty and austerity envisioned by Saint Francis and Saint Clare.Through the lens of her deep piety and miraculous experiences, the narrative explores the challenges Colette faced in revitalizing monastic life during a period of ecclesiastical division. The text highlights her profound influence on the spiritual landscape of her era, her interactions with contemporary leaders, and her lasting impact on the Colettine Poor Clares. As both a hagiography and a historical account, "St. Colette and Her Reform" serves as an essential resource for those interested in the lives of Catholic saints, the evolution of religious orders, and the power of individual conviction in shaping church history. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
