Stones in a River is a book of poetry. Some poems are influenced by news events too often gloom-laden. The Alaskan environment inspires other poems. Southeast Alaska is where mountains meet the all-important Pacific Ocean. Lives here, above and below the sea's surface, are co-dependent and call for expression in poetry. Then, as is often true with poetry, much written here is personal. Experiences, observations and views are a good part of most artistic pursuits.
L'autore: After retirement from Petersburg High School, Lee taught adult creative writing courses through University of Alaska, Southeast Extension Services, lead local writing workshops, and was twice selected as Petersburg Writer Laureate. Stones in a River is Lee's third book of poetry. In 2011, Lee published his first book of poetry, The Lines that Connect Us, a collection of poems about Alaska and nature. A second book, Moments Like These, Was published in 2012.
