Descrizione dell’articolo da parte del venditore

Very Good condition, signed by co-author. This is Straight Talk About Reading by Susan L. Hall and Louisa C. Moats, Ed.D. (Contemporary Books, 1999, first printing). The title page carries a genuine handwritten ink inscription from co-author Louisa C. Moats reading "Hope you find this useful," signed with her name; the recipient's name is blacked out above and below the inscription for privacy. The cover shows light wear with a small stain near the top edge and a light nick at the lower right corner. Three bullet points on one page (page xx of the Introduction) are marked with yellow highlighter, and the copyright year on the copyright page has a small yellow highlight dot; no other highlighting or writing was found elsewhere in the book. Binding is intact and pages are otherwise clean and white.

Descrizione dello Store

For 15 years I've been an Oregon CPA, and for 10 of those I taught tax and accounting at the college level. But my proudest work has nothing to do with numbers: I homeschooled my daughter from preschool through freshman year and in September she will be starting the 10th grade - homeschooling. This season taught me a good book can shape how a child sees the world. Every title I choose has to engage young minds to think critically and navigate this world with real understanding. Every book has a story — but it only means something when a child lives it. Why Papa Duck? I was "Uncle Duck" to my nieces and nephews for years — duck pictures fill my office, Mallards are my favorite. When my grandson arrived last year, the family asked what he'd call me. There was only one answer. CPA by training, teacher by calling, homeschool dad by experience, Papa Duck by love.
