This 7x10 102-page paperback teaches how to swim backstroke. The arm stroke patterns and sequences are slightly different than freestyle but relies on the same upper body and shoulder rotation to enter the water finger tips first. The side arm pull quickly rotates the lower arm to press the elbow into the body, so the hand quickly changes from a pull to pushing phase as the hand rotates past the hip. Level body position is achieved by flexing the shoulder blades back together and keeping the head steady. Teaching tips are provided to be self-taught or teach others.

In 2008 he retired as a K-12 school superintendent, owns Trius Publishing and Sports Advisor Features new syndicate, and is a behaviorist, author, coach, speaker, and publisher.
