He initiated Sun Microsystems′ HDTV workstation project and introduced color management technology to Sun. He is well known internationally as a researcher, writer, and teacher. In 1994, he was awarded the prestigious David Sarnoff Gold Medal for his work in integrating video and computing technologies.
