Ownership Signature, Possibly Later Eighteenth Century, Of A Samuel Foxcroft, Possibly The Minister Of That Name (1735-1807) Who Was The First Pastor Of The Congregational Church In New Gloucester. Pages Clean, Slight Foxing. Gerrit Janszoon Vos (1577– 1649), Often Known By His Latin Name Gerardus Vossius, Was A Dutch Classical Scholar And Theologian. He Was The Son Of Johannes (Jan) Vos, A Protestant From The Netherlands, Who Fled From Persecution Into The Electorate Of The Palatinate And Briefly Became Pastor In The Village Near Heidelberg Where Gerardus (The Latinized Form Of Gerrit) Was Born, Before Friction With The Strict Lutherans Of The Palatinate Caused Him To Settle The Following Year At The University Of Leiden As Student Of Theology, And Finally Became Pastor At Dordrecht, Where He Died In 1585. Here In Dordrecht The Son Received His Education, Until In 1595 He Entered The University Of Leiden, Where He Became The Lifelong Friend Of Hugo Grotius, And Studied Classics, Hebrew, Church History And Theology. In 1600 He Was Made Rector Of The Latin School In Dordrecht, And Devoted Himself To Philology And Historical Theology. From 1614 To 1619 He Was Director Of The Theological College At Leiden University. In The Meantime, He Was Gaining A Great Reputation As A Scholar, Not Only In The Netherlands, But Also In France And England. But In Spite Of The Moderation Of His Views And His Abstention From Controversy, He Came Under Suspicion Of Heresy, And Escaped Expulsion From His Office Only By Resignation (1619). The Year Before He Had Published His ‘Historia Pelagiana A History Of The Pelagian Controversies; At The Time It Was Considered By Some To Favor The Views Of The Arminians Or Remonstrants. In 1622, He Was Appointed Professor Of Rhetoric And Chronology, And Subsequently Of Greek, In The University. He Had Many Contacts In England; He Declined Invitations From Cambridge, But Accepted From Archbishop Laud A Prebend In Canterbury Cathedral Without Residence, And Went To England To Be Installed In 1629, When He Was Made Ll.D. At Oxford. He Was On Intimate Terms With Thomas Farnaby, And Farnaby's ‘Latin Grammar’ Is Based To A Certain Extent Upon That Which Vossius Wrote For The Elzevir Press In 1629. Among His Other English Correspondents Were Brian Duppa, Dudley Carleton, Lord Herbert Of Cherbury, George Villiers, 1St Duke Of Buckingham, The Prelates James Ussher And Richard Sterne, And Christopher Wren. He Got Permission From Charles I To Return To The Low Countries. In 1632 He Left Leiden To Take The Post Of Professor Of History In The Newly Founded Athenaeum Illustre At Amsterdam, Which He Held Till His Death.…

Il periodo di recesso scade dopo 14 giorni dal giorno in cui tu o una terza parte, diversa dal vettore e da te indicata, acquisisce il possesso fisico dell'ultimo bene o dell'ultimo lotto o pezzo.
Per esercitare il diritto di recesso, compila e invia elettronicamente una dichiarazione esplicita sul nostro sito Web, alla voce “I miei acquisti” nella sezione “Mio account”. Ti comunicheremo senza indugio una conferma di ricezione di tale recesso su un supporto durevole (ad es. via e-mail).
Per rispettare il termine di recesso, è sufficiente inviare la comunicazione relativa all'esercizio del diritto di recesso prima della scadenza del periodo di recesso stesso.
Effetti del recesso
In caso di recesso dal presente contratto, ti rimborseremo tutti i pagamenti ricevuti, compresi i costi di spedizione (ad eccezione dei costi supplementari derivanti dalla tua eventuale scelta di un tipo di spedizione diverso dal tipo meno costoso di consegna standard da noi offerto).
Potremo effettuare una detrazione dal rimborso per la perdita di valore dei beni forniti, qualora tale perdita sia il risultato di una manipolazione non necessaria da parte tua.
Eseguiremo il rimborso senza indebito ritardo e non oltre 14 giorni dal giorno in cui saremo informati della tua decisione di recedere dal presente contratto.
Il rimborso sarà effettuato utilizzando lo stesso mezzo di pagamento da te usato per la transazione iniziale, salvo che tu non abbia espressamente concordato altrimenti; in ogni caso, non dovrai sostenere alcun costo quale conseguenza di tale rimborso.
Possiamo trattenere il rimborso finché non avremo ricevuto i beni oppure finché non avrai fornito la prova di averli rispediti, a seconda di quale condizione si verifichi per prima.
Dovrai rispedire i beni o consegnarli a Arroyo Seco Books, Pasadena, Member IOBA, Pasadena, California, U.S.A., +1 626-372-3863, senza indebito ritardo e, in ogni caso, entro 14 giorni dal giorno in cui ci hai comunicato la tua volontà di recedere dal presente contratto. Il termine è rispettato se rispedisci i beni prima della scadenza del periodo di 14 giorni. I costi diretti della restituzione dei beni saranno a tuo carico. Sei responsabile solo della diminuzione del valore dei beni risultante da una manipolazione diversa da quella necessaria per stabilire la natura, le caratteristiche e il funzionamento dei beni stessi.
Eccezioni al diritto di recesso
Il diritto di recesso non si applica a:
- La fornitura di giornali, periodici o riviste ad eccezione dei contratti di abbonamento; e
- La fornitura di contenuto digitale non fornito su un supporto materiale (ad es. su un CD o DVD), se al momento dell'invio dell'ordine hai accettato l'inizio dell'esecuzione e hai riconosciuto che non avresti potuto recedere una volta iniziata l'esecuzione.

Postage, handling and insurance are extra, at estimated cost and processing fee. Shipment at standard rates is for small to standard sized books via media mail within U.S., or via Priority Mail envelope overseas, with tracking. Standard shipping costs are based on books of standard size with shipping weight of 4 pounds or less; if a book order is heavier or oversized, extra shipping costs may be charged. Non-standard and higher-valued international shipments are charged estimated postage and shipping costs, including full insurance for all shipments valued over $200. The full purchase price is always indicated on the Customs statement.
