Paperback. A fascinating pictorial history of North Vancouver city and district in British Columbia, covering over 90 locations scattered around the length and breadth of the region. Packed with old and new photos, this book takes readers on a light-hearted tour of North Vancouver's past. It's not just another local-history book. It's an experience in time travel! You'll stop at over 90 sites, scattered around the length and breadth of the city and district. Sometimes you arrive at a site in the past, and jump to the present. Or you might arrive in the present and travel back in time. Imagine walking by the seashore along a lovely tree-lined pedestrian promenade a century ago; today finds you dodging heavy traffic in a modern commercial district. Or perhaps you're staying in a first-class hotel far up the Capilano Valley in the early 1900s; fast-forward to the present and you're underwater behind a dam. Or stand in a quiet neighbourhood and see in your mind the large, noisy, lumber mill that used to be here. What's great is you don't have to start at the beginning of the book. Plunge-in anywhere. Flip pages forward or back. A wonderful gift for both young and old. Enjoy it lounging around home -- or take it to actual North Vancouver sites and compare past and present for yourself. This is the updated second edition. Shipping may be from our Sydney, NSW warehouse or from our UK or US warehouse, depending on stock availability.…
