Maureen Boon is passionate about children’s literature and believes it is a trigger to improve children’s literacy. She remembers buying books on Saturday afternoons; the smell of the paper and the excitement of reading the first page on the bus going home. She found her mother’s copy of Bambi by Felix Salten and got lost in the story, getting into trouble for reading late into the night by torchlight. Born in Devon, Maureen lives near Dartmoor with her husband, Robert and Lucy the whippet. She gives story writing and storytelling workshops to schools, libraries and other local groups.
