'The latest edition of this classic textbook confirms it as the number one introductory text for students of tourism. Comprehensive in its coverage, it is also attractively laid out and well-structured. Students will find it a stimulating and user-friendly read and its many illustrations, examples, case studies and review questions will reinforce their learning. The authors have done an excellent job.' - John Tribe, Professor of Tourism, University of Surrey, UK
'This book is a wonderful and much needed addition to the growing literature on the tourism phenomenon. Its world renowned authors have succeeded in producing an easy to understand and up-to-date textbook for tourism and hospitality students, educators and practitioners.' Abraham Pizam, Ph.D., Dean, Rosen College of Hospitality Management, University of Central Florida, USA
'The book has established itself as a key introductory tourism text and the new edition will be warmly welcomed.' Professor C. Michael Hall, Ph.D., Department of Management, Marketing and Entrepreneurship, University of Canterbury, New Zealand
'This is a first class textbook that provides timely and insightful understandings of the critical issues that face the contemporary tourism practitioner and academic. The text has a crisp, authoritative quality that is enhanced by short, informative case studies. From the reader’s perspective the very visual nature of the tourism experience is captured in quality photos and excellent diagrams and figures.' Bruce Prideaux, Professor of Marketing and Tourism Management, James Cook University, Australia
'In the Introduction it is suggested that the sustained growth and resilience of tourism has been a constant in a world of change. Tourism: Principles and Practice has also been a constant in the tourism academic domain since 1993, exposing generations of undergraduate and postgraduate students to tourism theory and practice. Fletcher, Fyall, Gilbert and Wanhill have produced a completely revised 5th Edition; chapter learning outcomes; major and mini case studies; annotated further reading; hyperlink addresses; YouTube links will ensure it sustains its position as a required text on tourism programmes worldwide.' Dr Keith Wilkes, Dean of the School of Tourism, Bournemouth University, UK
