In Tune: Exercises to Improve a Musician's Performance and Quality of Life

In Tune: Exercises to Improve a Musician's Performance and Quality of Life is a one-of-a-kind book with targeted exercises, created specifically for musicians, that are intended to enhance muscle strength, elasticity, and flexibility. Workout routines for before and after playing have been curated to address all regions of the body including the chest, neck, back, abdominals, shoulders, arms, legs, hands, and face. This book gives musicians a vocabulary of the muscles and a complete anatomical map of the structures related to playing an instrument. Tools are provided to maintain fitness and teach injury prevention and rehabilitation. In Tune may be used by a musician of any level to sustain physical health and wellness during the span of their musical career. 

Dr. Jaume Rosset i Llobet is the founder and medical director of the Institute of Art,Medicine & Physiology (Institut de l'Art, Medicina & Fisiologia www.institutart.com) inTerrassa (Barcelona). He received his bachelor's degree in medicine from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and his Doctorate of Medicine and Surgery (PhD) from the University of Barcelona. Dr. Rosset specializes in medicine for physical education and sports as well as orthopedic surgery and traumatology. He also completed a postgraduate degree in scientific communication. Dr. Rosset is the founder and director of the Medico-Surgical Unit of Art (Unitat Medicoquirúrgica de l'Art) at the General Hospital in Manresa (Barcelona), the first arts medicine unit in a Spanish public hospital. He is also the director of the Foundation for Science and Art (Fundació Ciència i Art www.fcart.org). The recipient of the Professional Excellence Award from the Catalan Medical Association, Dr. Rosset also writes about performing arts medicine for several scientific and educational publications.

Silvia Fabregas i Molas is the founder and head of physiotherapy at the Institute of Art, Medicine & Physiology (Institut de l'Art, Medicina & Fisiologia www.institutart.com) inTerrassa (Barcelona). She holds a Diploma in Physiotherapy from the Autonomous University of Barcelona's Gimbernat School. Since its inception, Ms. Fabregas has been a member of the Medical-Surgical of Art unit in the General Hospital in Manresa (Barcelona). As an expert in sports physiotherapy, she has extensive training in the Mezieres, Feldenkrais, andTRAL (Locomotor System Rebalancing Therapy) methods. Ms. Fabregas also has a master's degree in Neuro Linguistic Programming and is responsible for and coordinates the musician's dystonia neurorehabilitation program.

Dr. Annie Bosler wears many hats in her career as a Los Angeles freelance horn player. She has toured with John Williams' Star Wars in Concert and with Josh Groban, and performed on Dancing with the Stars, The Ellen Show, and PBS's Live from Lincoln Center. Annie shared the stage with Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney on CBS's The Beatles: The Night That Changed America. She performed with Ariana Grande and Chance the Rapper at The Grammy's, P-Diddy at The American Music Awards, and Wu-Tang Clan at Coachella. Annie can be heard on many motion pictures, video games, theme park rides, and TV shows as well as seen playing horn on Fox's TV show Glee. Named a TED Educator in 2017, Dr. Bosler co-wrote How to practice...for just about anything. The video went viral receiving over 50 million views on social media. In May of 2015, Annie also gave a TEDx talk about facial rehabilitation and brain plasticity entitled Elissa's Song: The Power of Face Exercises. She specializes in wind pedagogy, specifically teaching facial anatomy and symmetry as it relates to the embouchure, injury rehabilitation, creative ways to educate beginning students, and audition preparation for high school and college students. Having taught in the Colburn School for Performing Arts for nearly a decade. Annie has a 100% track record of helping students get into a school of their dreams. She co-authored College Prep for Musicians a book for high school students, parents, teachers, and counselors. Also, Annie produced and directed 1M1: Hollywood Horns of the Golden Years, a one-of-a-kind documentary film about the history of Los Angeles studio musicians told through the eyes of the legendary Hollywood horn players. In 2022, Annie has enjoyed working as a writer for Tianjin Juilliard's Music Discovery curriculum and is excited to publish a book called In Tune: Exercises to Improve a Musician's Performance and Quality of Life.Annie is professor of horn at California State University, Northridge. She served as the secretary/treasurer of the International Horn Society Executive Board for five years. In addition, she cohosted the largest International Horn Symposium, bringing over 1,000 musicians to Los Angeles in 2015. Annie holds a BFA from Carnegie Mellon University where she played varsity tennis, and a MM and DMA from the University of Southern California. She is married to studio hornist Dylan Skye Hart.
