Paperback. The Holy Scriptures present man not as a soul imprisoned in a body, nor as a body animated by an impersonal force, but as one indivisible person consisting of two distinct yet inseparable substances: the material body formed from dust and the immaterial rational soul breathed directly into him by God. This two-fold constitution is not a philosophical construct imposed upon the text; it is the consistent testimony of divine revelation from Genesis to Revelation. The Two-Fold Constitution of Man offers a careful, exegetical exposition of this biblical doctrine. Beginning with Genesis 2:7, the book traces the consistent witness of Scripture through life, death, the conscious intermediate state of the soul, the bodily resurrection and reunion of the whole person, Christ's assumption of both substances in the incarnation, the refutation of trichotomy, and the pastoral and eschatological implications for believers today.Written with pastoral clarity and reverent fidelity, this volume guards against reductionist errors-materialism, dualism, and trichotomy-while affirming the dignity of the whole person created in God's image, redeemed in Christ, and destined for glorified communion with the Triune God in the age to come. For every Christian seeking to understand human nature according to divine revelation, this work provides a faithful and worshipful guide to the truth that shapes our hope in the resurrection. The Two-Fold Constitution of Man offers a careful, exegetical exposition of this biblical doctrine. Beginning with Genesis 2:7, the book traces the consistent witness of Scripture through life, death, the conscious intermediate state of the soul, the bodily resurrection and reunion of the whole person, Christ's assumption of both substances in the incarnation, the refutation of trichotomy, and the pastoral and eschatological implications for believers today.

For every Christian seeking to understand human nature according to divine revelation, this work provides a faithful and worshipful guide to the truth that shapes our hope in the resurrection.
