Bruce Lindsay has produced a clearly articulated and informative text. It may not turn the reader into a researcher, but it will help readers to have a clearer understanding of the research process, how to scrutinise research evidence and evaluate its usefulness for clinical practice. The first of its two parts, 'Understanding research', has seven chapters covering key aspects of the research process, including identifying the research aim, designing a study, recruitment and data collection, and how to communicate research findings. The two chapters on reviewing the literature and data analysis will be particularly useful to those new to research. Part two, 'Evidence-based practice', offers chapters on reviewing the evidence, putting evidence into practice, audit and evaluation, and issues for the future. The book provides cases to illustrate crucial issues and key learning points summarising the main concepts. Effetti del recesso
