The first half of the booktalks about how artists can use these elements to create their ownvisual language and how this can be applied to develop their own work.This text is illustrated with the ceramic work of David Cohen. Thesecond half of the book is divided into sections, each written by aprominent crafts person, expounding on how they have developed and usedtheir own visual language. These craftspeople are: Alison Kinnaird(glass engraver), Jack Cunningham (jeweller), John Creed (metalworker), Graham Stewart (silversmith) and Anna King (weaver).
