Paperback. Claire Donovan swore she`d never come back to Maple Hollow. Six years ago she left for a bigger life in the city- a career, a relationship, the future she was sure she wanted. Now that relationship is over, her mother has taken a bad fall, and Claire is back in her childhood bedroom with a four-year-old daughter and a plan to stay just long enough to help out. a few weeks, tops. Then she walks into the hardware store for a lightbulb and finds Jake Calloway behind the counter-the boy she left behind, all grown up, and apparently still just as glad to see her as the day she drove away. Jake Never left Maple Hollow. He runs his fathers store, couches little league, and has spent six years quietly loving a women who might never come home. Now that she has, he is done waiting patiently and calling it enough. But Claire Knows exactly how this goes-she built a whole life once and lost it without ever seeing it coming, and the closer she gets to wanting this one, the harder her oldest instinct fights to protect her from losing it too, when her past shows up to test exactly how much has changed, Claire will have to decide, out loud, for the first time-is she running from something, or finally running toward it?
