Short 12mo with navy cloth boards with gilt stamped spine and small gilt facsimilel signature at the lower front. The dust jacket is fair to good. It is split along the front spine crease with two large chips top and bottom front, the top one obliterates the "W" of the title, and the bottom the "D" of David, and part of the explanation of what the author/editor contributed, which is "gathered, sifted and salted with an introduction by". The book itself has a touch of wear to the corner tips, slight darkening of the pasted down endpapers, and the remains of a cellophane wrapped four leaf clover inserted in text block. The criteria for inclusion are witty, humorous and funny, and includes the limerick, anonymous, tombstone wit, parody, nonsense and funny verse from the English speaking world. xxvi, 515 pp. Humor, Verse, Wit, Anthology, Collection, English, Poetry.
