Why is Kristyn A. Kutter? won two awards for the ---2021 In the Margins Book Award: Library School Journal Top 10 Fiction/Non-Fiction and Fiction--recommendation list.

**This book was judged by the target market - teenagers - who, after reading the books, opined they were very relatable to their age group and thus gave the book two awards. I believe they could be a huge help to the bullied, the bullies, school staff and even parents.

Instead of talking about her problems, Kristyn A. Kutter's rebellious spirit and self-hate has led to episodes of depression and self-mutilation when things go wrong. It did not help that her best friend committed suicide, leaving her to wonder if she will end up the same way. This book arms the reader with resources for crisis intervention through national centers and online support sites.*Trigger Warning: Includes strong language, non-graphic depictions of self-harm, drug and alcohol usage and sexual situations. Recommended for ages 16+*.
