Riassunto:

The Yawning Rabbit River was returned to the forest by an act of love and sacrifice, where it flowed and nourished the inhabitants for many years. But now old enemies and old ghosts rise again to threaten its existence. In The Yawning Rabbit River Chronicle, award-winning author J.L. Kimmel and illustrator David Ceccarelli, create an enchanting world of extraordinary creatures, where magic and adventure meet. Many years have passed since Sean, the rabbit thief, returned the river to Briarwood, his story long forgotten in history. But strange things are occurring and the people and animals of this sleepy river community are becoming alarmed. What is causing the mysterious illness that is striking whole families? And who is the Detective that is snooping around and asking questions? When young Nub meets Nil he doesn't realize the dangers that they are about to face, but he does know that there is something mysterious about Nil and her grandfather Jack Turner. When the truth of who they are is revealed the powers of good and evil that are swirling around Briarwood moves them towards an ultimate confrontation. As the barrier between their worlds disappears, both man and animal discover that they must work together as they fight for their very survival.Ultimately The Yawning Rabbit River Chronicle is about the healing power of family, friendship, nature, and love. But filled with magic, enchantment and adventure, it is also a whopping good story. Along with the delightfully unique illustrations of David Ceccarelli, The Yawning Rabbit River Chronicle is a timeless story to be enjoyed by both children and adults alike.
