Sam Sherdel

Sam Sherdel is a children's book author, zoologist, reptile and ecology educator, and the creator of Gizmo the Friendly Snake series. Through SnakesonSam Reptile Encounters, Sam has spent years helping children discover the wonders of reptiles and the natural world through hands-on educational programs.

Inspired by Sam's community-loved reptile ambassadors, Sam crates stories that encourage curiosity, kindness, empathy, and a love of nature. Tiptoe's Serious Hour is the first book ijn the Gizmo the Friendly Snake series, bringing gentle lessons about friendship and big feelings to young readers through lovable reptile characters.

When not writing, Sam, enjoys caring for a variety of exotic animals and reptiles. She continues to share their stories with families throughout the community.
