New York: The Limited Editions Club, 1956. Limited Edition, signed by illustrator Bernard Lamotte and numbered 1495 of 1500 copies on colophon at back. Quarto; (27 cm); xviii, 648pp. Illustrations throughout. Blue linen cloth-covered boards and red morocco spine with gilt lettering. Housed in gold paper-covered slipcase with paper spine label. Spine leather rubbed at ends and along joints. Boards lightly shelfworn, but sturdy and square. Minor toning to top edge. Binding is sound and pages unmarked. Slipcase scuffed and edgeworn, split at one side of the spine panel and paper torn at front panel, but remains intact. Housed in gold paper-covered slipcase with paper spine label. Spine leather chipped at head with rubbing at ends and along joints; leather shedding color to touch. Boards lightly shelfworn, but sturdy and square. Binding is sound and pages unmarked. Slipcase shows some scuffing to bottom panel and light edgewear, but is sturdy and solid with no splits.
