Born in Torquay, a south coast holiday resort, in UK. Author is a former seafarer and his maritime and short sea stories/ poems, reflect a love of the sea, from an early age. Sam Grant (Author name), also offers readers, romantic and mystery thrillers; science fiction; short stories and poems. Author, has adapted - Persuasion's Price, mystery thriller into a stage play. Trained in performance art. Both his Galactic Mission novels, reflect this interest, in story context. There is an element of both science fiction and fantasy threading through each Galactic Mission story line.

Mike Peters becomes staff Captain, aboard premier liner - Albany Contessa. A screen script is near to second draft, for Chilling Encounter, in 2025.

Latest novel published in 2024 - Sea, Sand and Katrina... by Sam Grant

A new collection of short stories and verse has been published. Short Story, Verse, Commentary by Colin H Coles ( author's birth name) in May 2023. Similar publications with verse and short story are Poems with themed notes and Mists of Time both with "Sam Grant," for author name.

In October 2020, Sam Grant, was invited on to BBC's Mid - morning radio show, with Simon Parkin, to chat about his latest science fiction novel, Galactic Mission Part Two. A group are on Mars (storyline, continues from first Galactic Mission) James, a young executive, resists advances from Adriana, an alien woman, in Chapter One. A group of forty, are about to make an earth return, to stave off return of Quadrant. A world governing body, who settled on the moon to escape earth destruction by comets.

In actuality, talk was more about author's sea experiences. Simon, was keen to hear about - life threatening episodes, author had experienced, aboard ship. A British tanker was ambushed of the south coast of Britain, the week of the radio show, which aroused interest from the radio presenter. Author, provided two - life threatening experiences. One was to do with being in the Caribbean, on an oil tanker, during the Cuban crisis; another was a civil war experience in Argentina. A cargo liner, author was on board, was under threat of attack from army and or air force. Tanks were shelling Buenos Aires. War resolved itself after two days. The rebel army became the new government!
