Dimitar Dimitrov

Dimitar Dimitrov is a Bulgarian former anti-poaching ranger and the author of Last Breath. He spent two and a half years protecting wildlife in Africa. He started with the ProTrack Anti-Poaching Unit in South Africa, where he went from volunteer to instructor, and later worked with CROW and on a mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Last Breath is his account of those years: the patrols, the losses, the people beside him, and the long road home. With the proceeds from the book, he organised his own mission to South Africa to train rangers in field medicine.

He is also the author of Becoming a Wildlife Ranger, The Language of the Bush and No Doctor for Miles, which together form the Africa Ranger Collection. Today he lives in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, and serves in the Bulgarian military.
