Facsimile of the 1917 Sanborn fire-insurance atlas of Yonkers, New York, reproduced in full color from the Library of Congress copy. It covers the whole city of 100,000 people, from the stores, theatres and banks of Getty Square and the mills and docks along the Hudson and the Nepperhan, through Ludlow, Glenwood, Park Hill, Nepera Park and Dunwoodie, to the estates, country clubs and new streets of Lawrence Park, Bryn Mawr Park, Crestwood and the Bronx River Parkway.
The one hundred fourteen numbered sheets work block by block from the stores, banks, hotels and theatres around Getty Square and along Main Street, North and South Broadway, Warburton Avenue, Palisade Avenue and New Main Street - the City Hall, the Public Library, the Post Office, the Manor Hall Museum, the Getty House, the Proctor's Theatre, Philipsburg, McCann, Ethan Flagg, Radford, Warburton and Yonkers Savings Bank buildings, the Hamilton, Orpheum, Warburton, Model and Central theatres, the Palisade, Manhattan, Bristol, Square and Hollywood hotels, the Y. M. C. A. and Mathewson's department store - through the New York Central passenger depots and the Ludlow, Glenwood, Greystone, Park Hill, Nepera, Dunwoodie, Lowerre, Caryl, Gray Oaks and Bryn Mawr stations, the Yonkers Railroad car barns, the Yonkers Electric Light and Power and Yonkers Gas companies, the Alexander Smith & Sons carpet mills, the Otis Elevator Company, the Habirshaw Wire Company, the Waring Hat Company, the National and Federal sugar refineries, the Maag Gear Works, the Hodgman Rubber Company, the Graphite Metallizing Corporation, the Schmidt copper and brass works, the Steadman piano factory, the Belmont, Reliance, Plimpton and Standard film studios, the Arlington Chemical and Palisade chemical works, the Yonkers Brewery, the Borden condensed-milk plant, the boat builders, coal and lumber yards and the Yonkers Water Works with the Grassy Sprain, Fortfield and Lake Avenue reservoirs and New York City's Hill View Reservoir, to St. John's Riverside, St. Joseph's, Yonkers City, Homeopathic and Maternity, Sprain Ridge and Municipal tuberculosis hospitals, the Leake & Watts Orphan House, St. Joseph's Seminary at Dunwoodie, the Capuchin Monastery, the Yonkers High School, the numbered public schools, Halsted School, Churchill School for Boys and Seton Academy, the Catholic, Episcopal, Reformed, Presbyterian, Methodist, Baptist, Greek, Russian and Hungarian churches and the synagogues, the Dunwoodie, Lawrence Park, Park Hill and Hudson River country clubs, the Yonkers Yacht and Canoe clubs, the Empire City Racing Association track, Untermyer's Greystone and the other estates, and the residential streets of Ludlow, Glenwood, Park Hill, Nepera Park, Dunwoodie, Bryn Mawr Park, Lawrence Park and Crestwood.
In 1917 the Sanborn Map Company of New York surveyed Yonkers for the fire-insurance trade, drawing the city at fifty feet to the inch. Every building is shown to scale and color-coded for construction (yellow for frame, pink for brick, blue for stone), with heights, uses, windows, party walls, hydrants, water mains and fire stations all marked. The index lists every street and every named business, church, school, hotel, mill and works with the sheet it appears on, and the key map places the colored sheet grid over the whole city.
This Exile Books edition is an unabridged facsimile republication of the atlas: the title sheet, the two index sheets, the map of the congested district, the key map in two parts and all one hundred fourteen numbered map sheets together with the six skeleton sheets, printed at 8.5 x 11 inches on premium color paper. Hai il diritto di recedere dal presente contratto entro 14 giorni senza fornire alcuna motivazione.
Il periodo di recesso scade dopo 14 giorni dal giorno in cui tu o una terza parte, diversa dal vettore e da te indicata, acquisisce il possesso fisico dell'ultimo bene o dell'ultimo lotto o pezzo.
Per esercitare il diritto di recesso, compila e invia elettronicamente una dichiarazione esplicita sul nostro sito Web, alla voce “I miei acquisti” nella sezione “Mio account”. Ti comunicheremo senza indugio una conferma di ricezione di tale recesso su un supporto durevole (ad es. via e-mail).
Per rispettare il termine di recesso, è sufficiente inviare la comunicazione relativa all'esercizio del diritto di recesso prima della scadenza del periodo di recesso stesso.
Effetti del recesso
In caso di recesso dal presente contratto, ti rimborseremo tutti i pagamenti ricevuti, compresi i costi di spedizione (ad eccezione dei costi supplementari derivanti dalla tua eventuale scelta di un tipo di spedizione diverso dal tipo meno costoso di consegna standard da noi offerto).
Potremo effettuare una detrazione dal rimborso per la perdita di valore dei beni forniti, qualora tale perdita sia il risultato di una manipolazione non necessaria da parte tua.
Eseguiremo il rimborso senza indebito ritardo e non oltre 14 giorni dal giorno in cui saremo informati della tua decisione di recedere dal presente contratto.
Il rimborso sarà effettuato utilizzando lo stesso mezzo di pagamento da te usato per la transazione iniziale, salvo che tu non abbia espressamente concordato altrimenti; in ogni caso, non dovrai sostenere alcun costo quale conseguenza di tale rimborso.
Possiamo trattenere il rimborso finché non avremo ricevuto i beni oppure finché non avrai fornito la prova di averli rispediti, a seconda di quale condizione si verifichi per prima.
Dovrai rispedire i beni o consegnarli a AHA-BUCH GmbH, Einbeck, Germany, senza indebito ritardo e, in ogni caso, entro 14 giorni dal giorno in cui ci hai comunicato la tua volontà di recedere dal presente contratto. Il termine è rispettato se rispedisci i beni prima della scadenza del periodo di 14 giorni. I costi diretti della restituzione dei beni saranno a tuo carico. Sei responsabile solo della diminuzione del valore dei beni risultante da una manipolazione diversa da quella necessaria per stabilire la natura, le caratteristiche e il funzionamento dei beni stessi.
Eccezioni al diritto di recesso
Il diritto di recesso non si applica a:
- La fornitura di giornali, periodici o riviste ad eccezione dei contratti di abbonamento; e
- La fornitura di contenuto digitale non fornito su un supporto materiale (ad es. su un CD o DVD), se al momento dell'invio dell'ordine hai accettato l'inizio dell'esecuzione e hai riconosciuto che non avresti potuto recedere una volta iniziata l'esecuzione.
