Zusammen ca. 4500 Seiten. Orig.-Leinenbände. John Thompson (1785-1866) galt als talentiertester Holzschneider seiner Zeit. Die Innengelenke der Bände I und IX aufgeplatzt und die Buchblöcke dadurch gering gelockert. Die Rücken haben leichte alte Wasserflecken, insgesamt handelt es sich jedoch um ein ordentliches, noch gut erhaltenes Exemplar der reizvoll illustrierten Edition mit nur leichten Gebrauchsspuren. Erste Ausgabe.
