Aggiungere al carrelloFirst edition in English. Authorized Translation on the Basis of the Author's Revised Copy of the Fifth German Edition. Printed in the USA. Date on title page: 5705-1945. [1931 on the copyright page.] Translator's Preface, Preface and Foreword to the First and Fourth Editions, Foreword to the Fifth Edition, Preliminary Remarks, Introduction to the Talmud, Introduction to the Midrashim, Notes, Indexes, Appendices; XVII, 374 pages. The original blue cloth is in very good shape, with corners square, though slightly rubbed; gilt lettering is a bit faded but clearly legible on the gently bumped spine. The interior has remained bright, crisp and clean, despite a hint of toning to the endpapers and top-edge. [Please see multiple images of the actual book.] The Translator's Preface explains: This English translation is to all intents and purposes a sixth edition of the original. It was prepared from a copy of the fifth German edition revised by the author and marked: "Manuscript ready for the Printer. For the English translation." As with every book from my father's collection, tipped-in at the front is the small, attractive, acid-free bookplate pictured on my homepage. All books are wrapped with special care and are shipped promptly with tracking; international sales sent via global priority, also with tracking. Please note that, due to COVID-19, overseas shipping may incur unusual delays.
