First American printing and the first English language edition of Popper's revolutionary work on the philosophy of science. First published in German in 1934, The Logic of Scientific Discovery contains Popper's famous doctrine of 'falsification' being the hallmark of a scientific methodology and has influenced both philosophers and scientists alike. New York: Basic Books, 1959. Publisher's original grey cloth, spine lettered in gilt and blocked in red; pp. [v], 6-479, [1]. An about near fine copy in a very good, unclipped dust jacket. Binding remains tight, sturdy and square with minimal shelfwear to boards and a bit of toning. Owner's information and blindstamp to flyleaf, else internally clean. Jacket shows light shelfwear, a couple closed tears and the typical toning to spine and panels. A nice copy, protected in archival mylar.
