A collection of drawings spanning 70 years (1893-1966) of the career of arguably the greatest artist of the 20th century, with examples from his student days through his early blue and rose periods, his classical and cubist works to his later 1960s work, often done with colored pencils. Includes an insightful introduction by the late Maurice Serullaz, of The Louvre Museum, Paris. 9 x 9 1/2 inches, 141 pages in tan cloth boards, 117 black & white plates, with a list of the illustrations. Boards and text are clean and unmarked, tight and square, not remaindered. The dustjacket, though worn and somewhat soiled with a few small tears along the edges and spine ends, is whole and without damage to the pictorial images. A collectable look at one aspect of a great artist's work.
