Ultra-rare original and final issue of The Technocrats' Magazine with prescient cover art by Norman Saunders. Large 8 1/2" x 11" design. Moderate cover, corner, edge wear, rub. Pages very good, clean. Illustrated throughout. Saddle-stitch bind, good. Protected in clear sleeve. Near very good original. This periodical was the organ of a movement touting "a method of scientific procedure in government" which would install a "scientific" brand of technocracy to control and engineer humanity. A type of dystopic future scenario touted as a utopian paradise of perfect on time existence. Founded by Howard Scott and Walter Rautenstrauch at Columbia University School of Engineering, the ideas grew from the belief that engineers were better suited to run society than lawyers and businessmen. Technocracy is a system of impersonal rule. Fascism with use of technology designed for all by a minuscule few. Technnocrats tout their concepts as rational, but the model diminishes the independence and soul. It is impossible to exploit an individual who maintains an aware and self-preserving frame of reference.
