The book is tightly bound in textured black cloth with title in gilt on the spine. Corners are bumped and the bottom edge of the back cover is abraded. Period book plate design by American artist Franklin Booth on the front pastedown. A previous owner has signed his name on the "bookplate". Otherwise, the pages are clean and unmarked. Fold -out charts are in place and intact. The book was the most widely used textbook in the field during it's tim.e.
