Translated with the permission of the author from the third German edition by E. D. S. who is likely Édouard Schuré, a close friend of Rudolf Steiner and a very important French philosopher and man of mystery in his own right who wrote several volumes of note. Rare near very good first edition of this most pivotal work. Steiner was a well known philosopher and a proponent of theosophy in his younger years. He tirelessly sought a provable link between spirituality and the scientific method. He was also a playwright, artist, educational philosopher, reformer, and the founder of Waldorf schools. This book reveals the author's engagement with the world of theosophy which profoundly impacted the development of alternative spirituality in the early twentieth century.
