Paperback. New York, at the Court of the Eastern District, there is a very delicate case that concerns your country. IT IS ABOUT AN ARMED FORCES GENERAL MIXED UP WITH DRUG TRAFFICKERS. I am talking about a high-ranking General. The DEA has been investigating him and has evidence against him. I BELIEVE HE IS CALLED THE GODFATHER. On October 15, 2020, the arrest of General Salvador Cienfuegos Zepeda at the Los Angeles airport shook the military fabric in Mexico. The United States Department of Justice accused him of using his rank to protect the Sinaloa Cartel, as well as receiving millions in bribes, and conspiring with said criminal organization to smuggle drugs. The so called Operation Godfather was the most solid and compelling international investigation about a Mexican military man directly linked to the drug trade. Regardless, nobody in the Mexican government knew what the American authorities had in mind until the General was apprehended. J. Jesus EsquivelWashington, DC correspondent for Procesowas the first reporter to have any clues on this operation months before the arrest, when a Federal District Attorney, whom he had met during Joaquin Chapo Guzmans trial in New York, tipped him off. In this book he recounts that meeting and shares every clue he was able to collect about the operation, from background information dating back to 2015, to the Mexican governments reaction to the arrest, as well as the consequences on the relationship between Mexico and the United States after Mexico decided to free Cienfuegos. On Your Command, General draws a line around all the concessions the army has had during Lopez Obradors administration, proving the enduring strength this institution has in Mexico.
