Colour print 7.4 x 17.7cms tipped onto an oblong folding cream greeting card 12.5 x 20cm, single copper coloured rule, captioned at the foot, and a printed on the opening "Christmas Greetings for the New Year from Engineering Department Guthrie & Co. Ltd.", foxing to the mount, but the image in very good bright condition. Image…after the famous mid nineteenth-century view of Singapore by Percy Carpenter (1820-1895) decorating the corporate Christmas card for the successful Singapore-based Guthrie & Co. Ltd. Founded in 1823 as importers and exporters, the company expanded to include agriculture and from the early 20th Century rubber harvesting and manufacture.
