Twelve page two section introduction by Georges Limbour and M.Leiris translated from French to English by Douglas Cooper. The remainder of the text is in French. 242pp. plus 1pp. contents page and 4pp. list of illustrations to rear. Many b/w illustrations.

Zu Beginn des zweiten Weltkrieges lebte Masson in Spanien, emigrierte dann beim Vormarsch der Deutschen 1942 in die USA (zeitweise lebte er auch auf Martinique und kehrte 1945 nach Frankreich zurück.
