The only flaw is a bend at the bottom of the front cover made by a careless handler by their thumb (there is a story in that, I am sure). Were it not for that the book would have been graded in as new condition. It is a perfect copy for fans of H. P. Lovecraft, the Cthulhu Mythos, and weird horror. This was one of the first books to collect tales from the Cthulhu Mythos outside of specialty publisher Arkham House. The stories include pre-Lovecraft fiction which inspired him to write his otherworldly stories about the Old Ones. The Yellow Sign by Robert W. Chambers is included. The cover was done by Gervasio Gallardo, noted fantasy painter but not in his usually colourful style. This one is dark and eerie. Includes stories by: H. P. Lovecraft, Ambrose Bierce, Robert W. Chambers, August Derleth, Vincent Starrett, Lin Carter, Robert E. Howard, Walter C. DeBill, Jr, Clark Ashton Smith, Frank Belknap Long, Zealia Bishop, and Ramsey Campbell.
