It is titled Hold-Up à Mirabel, and depicts the geographical outline of the city of Mirabel. This poster is about the expropriation of the St. Scholastique area, which the federal government of Canada had expropriated from Québec in 1969 to build the Mirabel Airport. The project required 97,000 acres of land in a particularly fertile farming area and affected 14 different municipalities, so the residents of the area strongly opposed this expropriation. Today there is an ongoing project to commemorate and raise awareness of this event, Expropriation Mirabel. Matted and ready to frame!
